Rainer Marie Rilke
Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist
I believe that everyone has a unique story that they are trying to write in this lifetime. Various obstacles, challenges, and even traumas can prevent each of us from seeing the clarity of who we are and the story we want to live.
Therapy is a unique experience where you can learn about yourself, your past, and what you would like your present self to be, through a process of analysis, discussion, acceptance, and integration.
As a psychotherapist and social worker by training, I view the individual as a complex vitality amidst a number of different factors (environmental, biological, psychological, and economic) and I try to accompany clients through the story they are trying to locate with all of these factors in mind.
My approach to therapy is grounded in psychodynamic traditions, including relational and psychoanalytic approaches. Over the past five years, I have developed my practice working within DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational interviewing approaches. While I continue to deepen my practice, I take a multifaceted and eclectic approach to working with the client where they are.
In my previous career, I worked with artists and as a writer, and I bring much of that same curiosity, patience, and care to my work as a psychotherapist and counsellor. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, films, photography, music, and exploring nature with my family.
